let yourself rest
A lot of times, more frequently speaking, I found myself in this rut where I was feeling stuck. Moreover, I had no motivation or energy to do anything in my day. I tend to beat myself up for feeling this way because I feel guilty for not attending to what I should be attending to. I feel guilty to the people around me and myself for not being productive, and the more I realize that we all have those days that are just so challenging and mentally draining, the more I realize that we all have those days that are just so challenging and mentally draining. We have to accept and know that that’s okay. So here is a quick reminder that those days when you feel guilty and mad at yourself for not doing more, try to keep in mind that maybe it’s just a sign that your body needs rest; your body knows when you’ve outdone yourself. Your body will break down, and you may get sick, dizzy, or tired. So, on that day, you owe it to your body to just be, and on those days, you should not feel guilty for attending to your needs. Do not feel guilty for not getting a task that you said you would get done; there’s always tomorrow, and there’s always the next day. Sometimes, our bodies just need to sleep or lay in bed; our minds just need to go on pause. And that’s okay because as long as you’re doing something small, you’re still doing something. It doesn’t need to be a big deal or a whole ordeal. If you get up, brush your teeth, and take your medicine. You should be proud of that. Even lying all day and doing homework in bed or reading, you still did something. Even if it’s not how you wanted your day to go, you still accomplished some sort of task. Remember you should be proud that you’re listening to your body and not overworking yourself because taking care of yourself and giving your body what it needs to survive is a challenging thing to do and it can be hard to accept rest or let yourself take a pause for a day. So, don’t feel guilty for not wanting to do anything; sometimes, it’s just what we need.
