People blow things out of proportion

You will not suffer forever It is okay to seek help.
4. Less stress will cure anxiety
Although life is a bit easier with some pressure lifted off of your shoulders it does not mean it will cure anxiety or get rid of it.
5. Suppressing your anxious thoughts makes the anxiety less bad.
This is false because over time all the thoughts will build up making it worse in the long run.
6. Telling people to “just breathe” has helped many people
WRONG! It makes people annoyed. It's not what we want to hear and it is not helpful.
7. The causes of anxiety disorders are rooted in childhood so therapy is important.
It's important to go to therapy but to focus on the now not the past.
8. If you eat and exercise the anxiety disappears.
False, some of us struggle to eat and exercise. It's helpful for some of us but not all.
9. People with anxiety have to have panic attacks.
This is not true considering people struggle with social anxiety and other anxiety disorders.
10. GAD IS SO NOTICEABLE!
This isn’t always true most GADs are hidden by being busy or even stress. You will never know if someone has it.
